I would like to send a hearty scuttlebuttering wish to my husband for a very happy 1st anniversary. It is incredible to believe that it has already been a year since we got married. It simultaneously feels like no time at all has passed and that we've been married for a very long time. Bert and I celebrated by spending the weekend at Ogunquit, Maine at a Bed and Breakfast there which was lovely and I will have a longer trip report shortly. But I just wanted to say that I feel very lucky to have such a great fella and I look forward to very many more fun years with him.

beet's beat
We haven't even been here a whole day and my boy's already tuckered. We've got to build up his Disney stamina.

Hotel Bars
If there's one thing I love, it's hotels.
And if there's a second thing I love, it's hotel bars.
And then thirdly, I love Beet.
Yesterday the three came together as we went to a delightful hotel bar downtown to celebrate Bert's birthday. We chose to go to City Bar in the Lenox Hotel because the lovely Miss Schroeder gave me a gift card there for my bridal shower. Are you thinking best shower gift ever? Because then you would be correct.

I'm not quite sure what the allure of the hotel bar is for me. They're always overpriced and often crowded and the drinks are sometimes not the best. But I like traveling and I like the people watching that you can do there. Of course the best hotel bar in Boston used to be the one at the Boston Marriott Copley Place, where no matter when you went the same crew of old cronies would show up to party hard. They were a group of beyond middle-aged men and women, the men quite dapperly dressed, who would stand pounding drinks at the bar, waiting to proposition young women to dance. This place was the best and I still mourn it's loss.

Costumes
Beet and I decided to go as former Presidents for Halloween. I'm so excited. I can't wait to speak softly and carry a big stick. Although as a female, I of course have to "tramp" it up. So get ready for this:
Is that hot or what?

Follow-Up
I showed the blog to Husband Bert when I got home last night. He enjoyed it immensely. We had great fun shouting the word scuttlebuttering. He would like me to promote his own blog. I will not do that. Bert does enough of his own blog promotion.
